A bit of background information. We (the Wait family) are looking to change the use of our field from agricultural land to a seasonal campsite with the provision of associated structures including showers and toilets. Currently, our campsite is only allowed to open for 28-days of the year, but we would like to increase this to opening for 3.5 months during July, August, and September.
As Jeremy Clarkson said himself; “I would like to see the government prioritising farming. We’ve been asked to diversify and when we try to do that, the local authorities tell us we can’t”.
Hayfield Hideaways is not like regular campsites, we focus on the environment, which we have showcased by planting over 6000 square meters of native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers around and throughout our site, as well as utilising renewable energy (solar) for the communal areas.
Our business is run by all five members of the Wait family. Alister (Dad) and Denise (Mum) are on the ground, dealing with the daily running. Hannah (Daughter - No.1) is crunching the figures and numbers. Ellie (Daughter - No.2) is behind the screen keeping you all up-to-date virtually. And Jack (Son - No.3) is on call for all maintenance and quirky creations such as our up-cycled fire pits♻️.
Hayfield Hideaways is about switching off, unwinding, and reconnecting with nature. That’s why we have only included 16-pitches, non-electric, separated by wild grass and flowers. Giving the minimising visual impact on the surrounding area.
We are looking for support to help us gain the planning to continue to share this hidden gem with the public ⬇️
